I found a tool named Launch Box / Big Box. It's supposed to be install n play, but it is also a bit of a pain in the ass if you are not a default kinda person. I got it tweaked to behave well enough. It serves as the front-end program for the MAME games I want to play. All is well. All left is a few software tweaks. I couldn't be happier with it all.
