Year 2025 - KP's Top 1000 - Movies and TV-shows and PC-Games

An attempt to pick the best new Movies I saw either at the cinema or at home on streaming / bluray. I have seen a ridiculous number of movies in 2025. Some new some old. Below are listed the best of the new releases.

--------------------------------------

MOVIES

1 - "Weapons", Cinema

I couldn't figure out from the reviews, if it was a stupid comedy or a horror movie. Well, it turned out it is mostly a horror movie with a supernatural touch and some rather funny scenes too. It never gets stupid though and the focus remains on horror and mystery. I found the way the story was told to be really entertaining, as you gradually get more and more answers to the movie's mystery. "Weapons" also works when you replay it. The movie of the year. As simple as that.

2 - "Final Destination: Bloodlines (6)", Cinema

I was a Final Destination virgin until a week before I watched this 6th entry in the series. After a quick binge watch of the previous movies I was ready. "Bloodlines" is on par with my 2 favorites of the series: 1 and 3. If you liked any of the movies I'm quite certain that you'll like this new one too. It doesn't just feel like gory deaths for the fun of it. Of course that's exactly what it is, but it's nice that it also feels like a movie with a storyline.

3 - "Bring Her Back", Cinema

Bring Her Back is entertaining. There is quite a bit of body horror and mystery. The actors do well. The run time is short enough and the pacing is fine. Sally Hawkins is great as the foster mom from Hell. Laura is one crazy evil bitch. The backstory can be a bit difficult to follow though. I've rewatched the movie and it remains a good watch.

TV SHOWS

1 - "The Last Of Us (Season 2)", HBO Max

I think Season 2 is a great adaption of part 1 of the second game. It may be a bit compressed with only 7 episodes, but that leaves little room for time-wasting derailed side-stories. Season 2 stays pretty much on the path and sticks to the storyline from the game. All the actors, both old and new, do great jobs and I really look forward to Season 3. Fuck the haters, they probably hated the game too, which is just ridiculous. TLOU2 is a bloody great computer game and the show has done it justice so far.

2 - "Peacemaker (Season 2)", HBO Max

Show creator James Gunn has tried very hard to ram a lot of Woke bullshit into the show, but he doesn't really succeed in what he wants. I think he wants to provoke people who hate everything Woke, but it just becomes another thing to laugh at. Yes, Woke people are retarded, so why not laugh at them?

The second season isn't quite as good and funny as the first one. It seems a bit more serious and more dramatic. It is however still one of the best shows out there and what you get in season 2 is highly enjoyable. It provides for several rewatches to laugh at all the details. Will we get a Season 3? I sure hope so. We can't leave Peacemaker this way. It just wouldn't be fair.

3 - "The Abandons (Season 1)", Netflix

A brand-new western saga featuring 2 very hardcore women, played by Lena "Cersei" Headey and Gillian "Scully" Anderson, in a nasty family fight over possession of land. The first season's 7 episodes managed to keep a fast pace and kept me binge watching the whole thing with few pauses. It is raw and violent and just the way I like it. I certainly hope that Wokeflix doesn't cancel this one, but you never know what those bastards will do. They'll destroy anything good for the fun of it.

4 - "Wednesday (Season 2)", Netflix

I really liked the first season of Wednesday. Season 2 is much more of the same, but also a bit too much of the same. Wednesday herself is still fantastic. Enid is however super annoying for the first half of the show. Luckily Agnes takes over, and she is a great invisible fan-girl of Wednesday. I have rewatched S2 and it has replay value. They didn't nail it completely this time, but I'll be back for more in Season 3.

PC GAMES

1 - "The Last Of Us, Part II, Remastered"

"The Last Of Us, Part II" was finally released for PC just a short time before HBO Max launched the first episode of Season 2. I managed to play through the game before the first episode launched and it really is a fantastic game. I have played it through 3 times now, including the new "chronological mode" option that is worth your time, if you already love the game.

This is one of the best games I have ever played, and yes, I also loved playing as Abby. In fact, Ellie is rather annoying in the game, something the TV-show haters maybe missed. Brilliant game, don't miss out, so much stuff that will never be included on TV.

2 - "Doom Eternal", Revisited in 2025 (Released in 2020)

I decided to replay the single-player campaign of "Doom Eternal" [2020]. What inspired me to do so was the release of "Doom: The Dark Ages" [2025]. I played "Dark Ages" for about 2 hours and then I'd had more than enough. I got my money refunded from Steam. "Dark Ages" fucking sucks.

"Eternal" is chain-sawing your way through hordes of demons while punching them bloody and shooting left and right with awesome powerful guns. The game mechanics and gameplay is still über-cool and absolutely insane. According to Steam I have now been playing "Doom Eternal" for more than 100+ hours in total. A sure sign of an outstanding game indeed.
