Udo Dirkschneider @ Amager Bio, Copenhagen, 2026-01-16

I've seen Accept live a few times after their split, and tonight I had the honor of witnessing Mr. Udo himself live in concert. This gig was part of the "Balls To The Wall - 40th Anniversary Tour". It is making less and less sense, since Balls was released in 1983. Another fact is that I'd much rather have a "Metal Heart - Anniversary Tour".

The first 7 songs were fucking awesome. A trip down memory lane. Udo can still sing with his full voice intact. Peter Baltes is fucking badass on his bass and the rest of the band kick total ass. This is not an Accept jam-band. In fact, I think they are better than the other Accept band at the moment. Wolf Hoffmann is hard to replace on guitar, but so is Udo and Peter. Udo-fucking-mærket!

Next up was the full "Balls" album. I stayed up-front for half of it, and then I decided that a few Lemmies and Tuborg Classics were more important than staying up front for an album that I really don't care that much about.

I watched the rest of the gig from the back of the sold out venue and we had a party back there. It was fun watching the encore while having a view over the crowd. The sound was awesome @ Amager Bio (no surprise) for both the main and the support band. Udo entertained us for about 2 hours, only with a few short breaks.
