Terrifier 1 was a completely brain dead slasher with lots of explicit torture porn "horror". It looked very cheap, trying desperately to disguise crappy scenery with insane color grading. It's victim characters were almost as annoying as they were stupid. Art the killer Clown did however sport a very creepy look and he was quite charismatic, but I did Iose a lot of interest in him as a horror creature when he turned out to be some immortal unkillable monster. I usually don't find much fun in a horror movie where the killer can't be killed.
Movie 2 begins right were Movie 1 ended. If you haven't watched movie 1 then don't worry. Art continues murdering everybody and that's all you need to know. This time around the victim characters are better. Most of them are less annoying and they are a bit less stupid. The budget was obviously bigger and the scenery looks better. The movie is (much too) long (2h18) for a slasher of this type. Prepare yourself for some filler scenes along the way.
There is some supernatural bullshit and attempts to establish a mythology for Art the Clown, and it is plain idiotic and doesn't make any sense at all. If you can manage to get through the filler scenes then the torture porn is next level brutal and explicit. This is were this movie really shines, if you are into this sort of thing. At the end of the day, it is still a polished turd wrapped in a camouflaged bag of very thin air. Why do everything in these movies - the gore excepted - have to be so fucking stupid?
I am sorry, Art the Clown, but when I or somebody else chop the head of a nasty killer clown, I expect the fucking clown to stay dead. See it for the gore if you must, but save yourself some time and just fast forward through the rest of the movie. I don't think I'll be joining you for the third round, which I'm sure will happen whenever the writer/director has consumed enough weird drugs to continue the idiotic mythology.
