The Finnish one-man army is back, legendary ex-soldier Aatami Korpi [Jorma Tommila]. In this sequel he sets off to the Soviet Union in 1946 to tear down his wooden house with the intention of transporting it back to Finland to rebuild it there. Aatami's family were brutally murdered in this house, so it brings back a lot of memories for him.
Do you think he'll make it back to Finland just like that? Of course not. Soon an old enemy, Igor Draganov [Stephen Lang], is on the hunt to try and capture Aatami, who is not a very popular man in the USSR. Igor is joined by the Soviet army and air force, so the odds are not looking good for Aatami. Will Igor succeed, will he be able to bring down the mighty Aatami Korpi?
There is a lot of blood and gore and a lot of action. It is not as exciting as it sounds. It just got a little bit boring after a while. I felt that some of the scenes dragged a bit. The movie has 6 or 7 chapters, but most of them are really just about the hunt. There isn't much plot or story and there aren't any really interesting new characters either.
I wouldn't say I was disappointed. Sisu 2 was pretty much a longer version of the trailer, and I guess you get what you were promised. It stays true to the style of the first movie. It's just not enough to make a good sequel. I'm not gonna buy this one on bluray. The first movie was just enough Sisu for me. I don't think the world really needed this sequel.
