"Longlegs", Cinema, [2024]

Pretty solid thriller with a satanic serial killer on the loose. Nicolas Cage is having a blast as the demonic figure Longlegs, who looks like he walked right out of the 2024 Olympics Opening Ceremony.

Agent Lee Harker [Maika Monroe] is a bit of a strange fruit. She is psychic and that quickly connects her with the killer behind a lot of gruesome murders of entire families. Things are clearly not what they seem, and while it's really nicely done, with a great threatening atmosphere throughout the movie, it is not super difficult to guess at least parts of the plot before it unfolds.

The soundtrack includes T. Rex and that is ALWAYS a great plus in my book. The movie does include some gore and blood, but it is never really scary. It is a thriller and not a horror movie. There are some strange looking dolls with satanic powers in the movie, but they are not as scary as Annabelle.

I have seen the movie compared to "The Silence of the Lambs" [1991] and that is simply going way too far. "Longlegs" is a solid movie with some good acting, yes, but it is nowhere near in the same league as "The Silence of the Lambs". So chill a bit, hype freaks.
