The theatrical version was boring and weak. Now we get something we never needed - an extended version that wastes 13 more minutes of your time. It is by far the weakest of the 3 "World" movies.
Bringing back the 3 old "Park" characters: Ellie, Alan and Ian suck. Nostalgia sucks. It sucked in the terrible Disney Star Wars sequels and it sucks here. Their scenes are terribly boring and only Ian has some mildly amusing dialogue. It would have been a way better idea to only focus on Owen and Claire and their "daughter" Maisie.
The locust plot stinks. Nobody wants to hear about shitty locusts in a dinosaur movie. The dinosaurs stink too. Way too many lame bird-like feather-saurs. The only dino scenes that really work well are with Blue and her baby raptor and some of the scenes of dinosaurs in the wild.
The characters are only in real danger if they are bad persons and I hate the idea that Henry Wu has suddenly become a good guy. The pacing is terrible and a movie that was already way too long is now even longer. If you hated the theatrical version there is absolutely no reason to watch the extended version, it doesn't improve the movie it only makes it even longer.
