Trent Reznor's new band - while taking a break from Nine Inch Nails - has just released a 6 track EP that you can download for free at the band's website. The EP will also be released on July 6. as a physical CD and can be pre-ordered at Amazon.
How To Destroy Angels (HDA) is a 3-piece band with Trent Reznor, his wife Mariqueen Maandig (vocals) and Atticus Ross. They don't sound too far from NIN with a female voice and if you are willing to play the EP a couple of times I'm sure you'll like it if you like NIN. It has the usual distorted elements and at least one track Fur-Lined sounds like an outtake from the latest NIN album The Slip [2008] with a nice drum and bass rhythm.
Perhaps the two most easily likeable tracks are the first single The Drowning and the first EP track The Space in Between. If you choose to buy the HD version of the download EP for $2 you will also receive the video for The Space in Between in full HD (1080p) clocking in at 327mb. It's a great video and I've linked to it below.
If we can't have NIN at the moment then this project/band is not the worst thing that could have happened. Trent Reznor still rules o.k.
