I just recently had the joy of playing Half-Life 2 - Episode 2. It's been quite a while since I visited the Half-Life universe when playing Half-Life 2 and Episode 1. I have to admit that I loved being back in the HL2 universe.
I've always hated the damn "Loading" screen, but the ultra realistic world in HL2 is outstanding. It just looks fantastic. And the way they can change the pace from rather slow to serious business in a few seconds is so great.
I've just bought a brand new nuclear powered PC and I needed some good games to unleash it's power, so why not visit the good old familiar HL2 universe again? The Episode Pack (with both 1 and 2 on it) is real cheap these days, and also I was rather curious to learn what had happened to Freeman, Alyx (she is so nice, isn't she?) and the rest of the characters.
I think Episode 2 had it all. A good story with tons of humor, really great characters and voices and some thrilling gameplay. Especially the last part where you have to defend a rocket silo from incoming enemies is a total blast. Also the junkyard under heavy fire from automated guns and the acid-lions in the caves are great. I'm beginning to become very bored with the ant-lions though. But the head crabs are always good fun.
Now, the only problem is that the end was really sad for Alyx (and I really want her to be happy) and I simply can't wait to play Episode 3. Why does it have to take so long. Why isn't it ready yet? Why? Why? Tell me why?
