Grinderman - 2 RMX

Stranger things have happened, but still. I happen to like the new remix album of songs from the second Grinderman album better than I liked the original album.

I think many of the remixes are better than the original songs and even if a few of them are not that interesting I must say that most of them kick considerable ass. It is really clever remix work that brings new and extra life to many of the original songs.

The remix album has a really good consistent flow and it is a joy to avoid some of the filler tracks that the original album had too many of. My personal favorite remix is probably "Worm Tamer (A Place To Bury Strangers remix)" - a total high speed kick ass mix it is.

Quite often remixes are just stupid mindless garbage, but not in this case. If you didn't quite like the second album (like me), then you should check this re-engineered version out. There's a chance you might like it!

I'm not quite happy with the fact that Grinderman seem to have decided to abandon ship, but this album is not the worst way they could swim away. Now we can only sit back and wait for the return of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.
