An awesome Japanese boxset entitled "Return To The Pleasuredome: F.G.T.H. Complete Box" has just been released. It features a very cool track list of mostly singles and b-sides, a second disc of remixes and even a DVD with all the music videos. If that ain't enough it also contains a t-shirt, a FGTH condom, a postcard and a booklet.
The booklet is all in Japanese but contains the track lists and a bunch of photos to look at. The postcard features FGTH as cartoon characters.
The t-shirt is unfortunately aimed at tiny Japanese people and is medium sized. It would have caused more joy to throw in a size XL to fit average sized Europeans and Americans. But ahh well, it is a Japanese release, so I'll just shut up, and not wear it. It's a "Relax(don't do it)" design (white shirt and black text.)
Disc 1 has a very great track selection and it serves as a superb greatest hits selection, even though it's a lot more than that. Besides single versions and b-sides, disc 1 also contains rare stuff like Disneyland, Our Silver Turns To Gold and The Waves.
Disc 2 contains 5 older remixes and 5 newer remixes. It comes as no surprise that the older remixes are cool and the newer for most parts suck. Welcome To The Pleasuredome(fruitness mix) is absolutely top of the remix pops while Welcome To The Pleasuredome (stripped down mix) is complete garbage. So it's a bit of a mixed bag this second disc, really. Disc 2 is what prevents me from giving this boxset a top rating. The remixes track list is not nearly as good as it was on the japanese Welcome To The Pleasuredome 2009 release.
The DVD disc holds the Complete Videos and consists of 11 older videos and 3 newer videos. The DVD has region code 2 making it play in Japan and also in Western Europe. Also on the DVD is a 30 minutes interview with Paul Rutherford and producer Trevor Horn and others.
