I was a Final Destination virgin until a week ago. I figured that this series must have some sort of quality to it with this new movie being number 6 in the series. I binge-watched movie 1,2,3,5 in a row. I didn't manage to get my hands on the 4th movie. Most of them aren't really that connected anyway, and if you have seen at least one of them, you get the idea. If you cheat Death, he'll haunt you until he gets what you owe him: your lives.
This new movie begins many years ago when Iris Campbell [Brec Bassinger] has a premonition about a terrible accident in a newly built restaurant tower. She manages to warn and save a lot of people from certain death, and then they all end on Death's death-list. Unsurprisingly Death begins to collect his debt.
Fast forward to many years later. Iris' grand-daughter, Stefani Reyes [Kaitlyn Santa Juana], wakes up every night with the nightmare of the premonition that Iris originally had. Her family begins to drop like flies. Everything is like it always is in Final Destination movies. Horribly gory deaths caused by hilariously "coincidental" happenings and chain events. I laughed out loud several times. There are some great deaths in "Bloodlines".
The actors are all pretty good and the story isn't bad either. It doesn't just feel like gory deaths for the fun of it. Of course that's exactly what it is, but it's nice that it also feels like a movie with a storyline. This movie is on par with my 2 favorites of the series: 1 and 3. If you liked any of these movies I'm quite certain that you'll like this new one too.
Bonus info: Tony Todd has a small part as the well-known character William Bludworth, who knows a thing or two about Death. The actor actually died after this movie was filmed, so it is very nice to see him here for the last time. R.I.P.
