Season 1 was a good start for the Fallout series. For whatever reason they decided to fuck it up and derail it completely with Season 2.
Every episode is full of loosely or nearly disconnected scenes that take place in the present or in the past. We flip back and forth in time constantly, like a time machine controlled by a strobe light. It is hard to find any meaning in most of it. They don't bother to explain anything and it is all a big puzzle of pieces that barely fit together. If you really tried hard enough and they miraculously should fit, then the resulting image would likely be a pile of retarded crap anyway. If you haven't played the games then most of it doesn't make much sense. I haven't played the games and I probably never will. I am sure some Fallout fanboys and girls can find some joy in the show, but I simply can't.
All the actors, with one exception, are fucking annoying. I sincerely hope they are less annoying in real life. The 2 main characters, Lucy "Vault dweller" (Ella Purnell) and Maximus "stormtrooper Finn clone" (Aaron Moten) just pisses me off. If that is the point, then they are doing an excellent job. Norm (Moises Arias) doesn't get enough screen time to make any difference on his path to waste his own and our time. The only character that kicks ass is The Ghoul (Walton Goggins). I saw a meme around the time of Episode 5, saying: "Walton Goggins hospitalized with back pain after carrying the entire Fallout franchise on his back". That pretty much sums this season up.
It is a criminal waste of Lisa Joy's talent to be involved in this crap, when she should have been busy wrapping up the "Westworld" show, had fucking HBO Max not cancelled the greatest sci-fi show ever. I hope Lisa at least are making good coins on this Fallout crap.
Oh, it all still looks bloody great, the World Building is excellent. Too bad it is just a hollow shell with nothing inside. Season 1 was decent and promising. Season 2 is the worst TV show season I have seen in a very long time. I am pretty sure I won't bother checking back for Season 3. I have already wasted enough time in the wastelands.
