Escape Plan [2013]

Ray Breslin (Sylvester Stallone) is a prison escape expert who makes himself a living breaking out of maximum security prisons to point out their weaknesses. He agrees on a well paid job and finds himself locked-up in the world's most secure prison and everything doesn't go quite as he had planned. This time he is all on his own. Well, almost. He makes friends with Emil Rottmayer (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and together they must try and beat the system if they ever wanna see daylight again.

"Heh heh. You hit like a vegetarian!"

The prison is of course one of those awful in-human American prisons where prisoners are treated like cattle by guards who might as well be robots, but this is an action-movie so don't expect any political views here. Sly and Arnie are in fine form and they throw a bunch of funny one-liners and Arnie even gets to speak a lot of funny bullshit in German.

"Your mother can really polish a helmet."

If you put your brain in action-movie mode and don't expect anything too realistic or believable then this is okay entertainment. It has most of the things you would expect from a Sly and Arnie movie and fans of the two old men will probably not be disappointed. At the end of the day it is however just a bit too predictable and we've kinda seen it all before.
