If "Dead is just a Word" then you can make a sequel featuring the same serial killer who died in the first movie. Yup, Finney [Mason Thames] and Gwen [Madeleine McGraw] have to fight "The Grabber" [Ethan Hawke] again. This time he fights from Hell in a dream world that only the chosen few can see. He is however still deadly from beyond if that makes any sense (it doesn't).
This is one of those sequels that they shouldn't have made. The first movie is a fine horror flick that works very well on its own. There was no need for a sequel. There was no need for a killer who can grab and kill you in your dreams like some freakin' Freddy Krueger.
It looks very nice with the remote location all covered in snow, and there is some blood and stuff, but not enough to make anyone puke. Mason and Madeleine are great young actors, but they are trapped in a bad snowy dream. A bad dream of a sequel based on a crappy script. The best part of the movie is actually when Gwen tells some fucked up Christians to go fuck themselves. Coincidentally the cinema was being haunted by some fucking teenagers that wouldn't shut the fuck up and should also have fucked off and fucked themselves elsewhere. I doubt however that even complete silence in the cinema would have helped the movie much.
I wouldn't advice you to spend money on this one in the cinema. Wait for it to show up on streaming and grab it at home with some microwave popcorn. It still won't save the movie but it's easier and much cheaper.
