Alien: Covenant [2017]

In Ridley Scott's new Prometheus [2012] sequel and Alien [1979] prequel, a colonization ship decides to visit an Earth-like new planet on the way to their planned destination. Let's just reveal, that it was a very bad decision. But if the captain is a religious moron, and all movie astronauts these days seem to be emotion-driven lunatics without any self-control or sense of logic, then bad things are bound to happen.

David [Michael Fassbender] - the sneaky android from Prometheus - plays a major role in the movie and he isn't exactly the nicest guy you could run into on an unknown planet. He is nothing like Walter - the newer version of David - who is a member of the colonization ship's crew.

The movie is really entertaining and provides a nice mix of the Prometheus creation story and the face-hugger and xenomorph action from Alien(s). David is the God of the creation story and Daniels [Katherine Waterston] is the movie's new Ripley/Shaw heroine.

The final plot twist could be seen from miles away and came as no surprise. The speed from egg to grown Alien seems to be faster than ever before. Maybe there were a few other details that will require some super glue and gaffer tape to fit together with the old Alien movies, but time will tell, when the next movies come out.

I like the old Alien movies. I like Prometheus (particularly if you include the deleted scenes) and I like this new Alien movie. It's not perfect, but I like it anyway. I'm looking forward to watch it again on bluray later and to watch the next movies in the series.

Spoilers! Interesting questions... don't read this until after you've seen the movie!
