Can somebody please tell me: why do we need to have yet another Adam (and the) Ant(s) greatest hits collection? Well, of course you can't. This must be variation #10,000 for fuck's sake.
Anyway, apart from the usual hits and a few odd(or different) choices, you get a DVD with 8 music videos: "Kings of the Wild Frontier", "Strip", "Antmusic", "Stand & Deliver", "Prince Charming", "Ant Rap", "Goody Two Shoes", "Puss 'n Boots." Doesn't that leave room for more on the DVD? Well, of course it does. But I guess they plan to cash in again when the "Digital Tenderness" DVD arrives. If it ever really happens...
Adam and his Ants made some outstanding and original music videos that were small movies in themselves. They just make you wonder, did they have a law against kissing in music videos in England back then? Adam has so many girls so close in those videos and they never get down to it? Weird.
Worth buying? Well, only if the odd thing should be the case that you don't own 3 or 4 Adam Ant greatest hits collections already, or if you can't wait for the "Digital Tenderness" DVD.
I think you should buy the new book "Stand & Deliver / Autobiography" instead. Unfortunately I have only read the first 2 chapters so it's a bit early to say if it's a good book. I'll tell you later...
UPDATE: Seems that the "Digital Tenderness" DVD release may have been replaced? by the "Stand & Deliver" 2DVD release in December. Available now for pre-order at www.HMV.co.uk
