Independence Day: Resurgence (2D) [2016]

The first ID4 movie from 1996 was certainly not a brilliant movie. But at least it was somewhat fresh and it had some nice fun and action, if only you switched off your brain while watching it. Now we're 20 years later and somebody's figured out it's time for a sequel. Once again it's directed by Roland Emmerich, and the cast is full of lousy actors, who can't act with an alien gun pointed to their heads.

This movie's got everything: a horrible plot, terrible dialogue, total lack of surprises, lots of predictability, embarrassingly unfunny humor, lousy acting, lack of logic, disappointing special effects, pathetic attempts at sentimentality, cliché piled on top of cliché, American patriotism ... the list goes on and on, and I will just stop here.

This is easily one of the worst movies of 2016 so far. It has booked a place right next to "The 5th Wave". Just skip it, unless you really hate yourself. Emmerich has got to be one of the lousiest directors ever. If you thought his "Godzilla" movie from 1998 was bad, then you surely haven't seen this ID4.2 pile of shit yet.
