I can see why many people on IMDB go nuts about obvious flaws and rather unbelievable events and happenings. However I find it very funny to hear Turks scream and shout about this being a lousy portrait of Istanbul and the movie being Islamophobic.
Come on, it's a fucking action movie! Did you not see the first Taken movie? That one was just as incredibly unrealistic and full of events that are so unbelievable that it makes you smile if not laugh. But the acting is good and the movies make you care for the family and most of all it is bloody entertaining and never boring.
Sure, Kim (Maggie Grace) reminds me of a 12 year old at times and then in the next moment she is a race car driver and an action hero. But fuck all that. Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) kicks some serious ass and all the bad guys get what they deserve. The good guys are incredibly good and the Albanian but English-speaking bad guys are total scum that should be wiped from the face of the Earth.
Nope, this movie is not as good as the first Taken, but it is still very entertaining. Maybe there is no reason to ever make a third movie, but I don't regret watching this one.
