The Cure has planned to release a new single on the 13th of every month until September where they will release their new and 13th album (depending a lot on how and what you count).
The second single "Freakshow" is out now and it is a hell of a lot better than "The Only One" which really sucked. "Freakshow" sounded really promising at the gig here in Copenhagen in February and it is just as great in this studio version. It is very Cureish and although very short it makes you long for more songs from The Cure. In fact it is a superb The Cure song. Just replayed it some 50 times, and it is still freaking cool. It has put a spell on me. Hope has been restored in the galaxy that maybe the Empire will finally wipe out those bloody rebels and maybe the Dark Side will triumph and maybe the new album will be worth the wait, if only it is as great as this new single.
The B-side "All kinds of stuff" is a bit messy and doesn't make that much of an impact, but it is still cool enough to listen to. So up until now we have 2 new singles out of 4. One is utter shite and one is really cool. Bring on the next one. Hit me!
