Marilyn Manson
had turned out to be disappointing (as expected) but luckily for us Rob Zombie had plans of kicking ass instead. Rob Zombie had brought a much bigger stage production than Manson and he had lots of video screens and huge robots and monsters on stage to provide entertainment. More importantly however, the band kicked ass and Rob was determined to create a party.
Rob Zombie had cancelled his gig at Roskilde Festival 2011 so the crowd had huge expectations for this gig and they got value for their money. Rob Zombie has a sound that can be described as Marilyn Manson meets Alice Cooper so it was only fitting for him to do a short version of Cooper's
School's Out
. I've only recently begun listening to Zombie's songs, but I was happy to hear favourites like
Superbeast, Thunder Kiss '65
and
Dragula
live.
Rob Zombie's music is not very complicated and it is perfectly suited for a rock party. It sounded like a great idea to have both Manson and Zombie on the same stage, but unfortunately only Zombie delivered tonight. He even used the old crowd pleasing trick of wrapping himself in the Danish flag when saying goodbye to the fans. I would certainly love to see him come back to Denmark soon and kick ass again.
During the show they played a trailer for Rob's upcoming witch movie
The Lords Of Salem
on the video screen. It looks very promising. It should be out in 2013.
