Martin Degville's Sigue Sigue Sputnik Electronik has a new EP out containing 4 brand new mixes of well-known Sputnik tracks that has been given the re-recorded, re-mixed, re-modelled, re-vamped and re-loaded treatment by Martin and the electronic mastermind Lloyd Price. The idea is that a full-length "Flaunt It" electro album will be released later.
How we wept 'n' cried And felt the shame inside And died to save mankind Is this the future?
The last track "Is This The Future?" from the "Dress For Excess"[1988] album has returned in style! This new version is way better than the old version and it is worth the price of this EP alone. Simply excellent and very very Sputnik!
My heart you stole Forever to suck my soul Tonite
"Dancerama" is another track from "Dress For Excess"[1988] that has been updated to year 2010. I like it better than the original album version, but my favourite will always be the original 1986 b-side 7" version. The b-side was more raw in a perfect way. That said, the new one is not bad at all.
Bye Bye U.S.A.
The "Bye Bye U.S.A." track is a re-recorded and different mix of a song taken from the "
Prophet of Freak
"[2009] album. I've never been too much in love with this particular song, but this new version is better than the album version and fits in well on the EP.
Transex Transform Transexy baby I don't mean maybe, don't mean maybe I don't mean maybe, Atari Baby
The all-time crowd sing-a-long favourite "Atari Baby" from "Flaunt It"[1986] is back with some new sexy clothes on. The good thing about "Atari Baby" is that she is always hot. She was hot in 1986, she was hot in 1997 and she is still red, hot and sexy today.
