Sylvester Stallone has tried to create a remake of what made the eighties action movies so enjoyable for boys of all ages. I have awarded this movie one big Turd, and I'm not sure if it is even deserves that honour to be honest. It is plain awful and that includes more or less everything in it. Of course you are allowed to have very high expectations when Tim Burton takes us down the rabbit hole and builds yet another one of his weird surreal universes. Entertaining space adventure on a planet far far away with a very different civilization and weird plants and animals. The action scenes are really cool and a pleasure to watch. Very funny horror comedy with lots of laughs, when our protagonists make their way through America to Los Angeles and Hollywood, while fighting off zombies who have more or less taken over the world and eaten most of the human population and/or turned them into zombies. This World War 2 movie is written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. It is entertaining and also great fun. It is not at all boring like some reviewers claimed, but I agree that it feels a tiny bit long in a few scenes. Really great sci-fi this one, by new director Neill Blomkamp and presented by Peter Jackson. Very interesting story which is not so easily predictable from the beginning, cool use of lots of documentary style camera (and 10.000 times better used than in the lousy Cloverfield) and really exciting action.
