I got this cd from a friend who hit me in the back of the head with it, but it was a pretty good toss though, since I've actually come to like it quite a bit. Yet another fantastic Gutter Island festival has taken place. It was just as awesome as last year, well actually it was even better, because the weather behaved perfectly. I've had this record for some time now and I've played it MANY times by now. Even if I had the feeling that I liked it almost instantly, it is an album that takes quite some time to really dig into and it is very much worth the effort. The album is right now number 1 in as many as 21 countries, including Denmark. Very impressive indeed!

This 3 dvd release is very professionally filmed and mixed. The quality is perfect for the entire product. It is a mix of most often 1 song from each band that played at the festival and there is also some small featurettes about the Wacken festival and whatever is going on, most of them quite interesting actually. After having seen the mighty Immortal play an awesome gig at W:O:A 2010 it was a joy to receive this package in the mail just when I got back home from the Wacken festival. It is a dvd+cd package and in the limited edition (mine is 0054/1000 copies) there is also a pretty cool high quality poster flag. At the 2007 gig at Wacken the setlist spanned the entire career ... Sylvester Stallone has tried to create a remake of what made the eighties action movies so enjoyable for boys of all ages. This year's trip to Wacken Open Air was my second. My debut as a W:O:A virgin was in 2009. Wacken is the greatest metal festival in northern Europe and it is really quite massive. Some say 85.000 ticketholders. The camping grounds are huge which means there is plenty of room for tents and camps. Great memphis-soul album from our favourite rock'n'roll girl Sheryl Crow. It is clearly one of her best and most easily enjoyable outputs for a while and it has everything from great melodies to true emotional soul. 100 Miles From Memphis takes no time at all to get into, in fact you'll like it instantly. I never really liked Mr. D’Arby. Never thought he was worthy of using the Trent name. :) So maybe you should ask a D’Arby fan if it is okay or not. I like it.

The newest album by outlaw country rebel Hank Williams III is Hank as we know him. Singing about alcohol and drugs related problems and generally telling the story of men and women at the bottom of society, but always with humor and great love, simply because he is a rebel within and therefore it is always honest. The new Prince album was given away for free with english newspaper The Daily Mirror on Saturday 2010-07-10. The same distribution strategy was being used with the 2007 release Planet Earth. 20TEN will later be released with other european newspapers and maybe it will also have a commercial (cd) release.
